Sharon Smoley Elected to National Industry Board

Orlando, Fla. – Sharon Smoley, Founder and CEO of Central Florida Public Affairs, was elected to the National Board of Directors for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in July 2021, while serving as Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy at the Orlando Economic Partnership.

Smoley joins an esteemed group of more than 50 representatives from leading organizations, including many of the world’s most influential regional chambers of commerce. ACCE, based in Alexandria, VA, is an association of over 9,000 professionals working with more than 1,600 chambers of commerce.

During her tenure at the Orlando Economic Partnership, Smoley was responsible for developing policy on behalf of Central Florida’s business community across a seven-county region, as well as leading advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.

“I’m honored to have been elected to the ACCE Board of Directors,” said Smoley. “As Orlando’s economy, and the economies of cities and counties nationwide, recover from the pandemic, the collaboration between regional chambers and local officials is more crucial than ever. The mission of ACCE is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead businesses and their communities. ACCE identifies and analyzes trends affecting communities, shares best practices, and provides tools to help chamber leaders manage and improve operations to achieve the highest impact in their communities.
